During her college years, Eve actively performed in numerous recitals and competitions, earning top placements. Among her most notable achievements, she received the Honor Award at the Performance Scholarship Competition of Old Town Music for Piano, and won First Prize at the Seventh Annual Piano Ensemble Festival at Fullerton College.

Ms. Chen earned her Bachelor's Degree in Piano Performance from California State University, Northridge. During her studies, she trained under distinguished pianist Dimitry Rachmanov and further refined her musicianship through master classes with internationally acclaimed pianist Roberto Prosseda. She was also a recipient of the MTAC West Valley Branch Scholarship through the CSUN Music Department for the 2010–2011 academic year.

With over 15 years of experience as a dedicated educator and performer, Ms. Chen is currently an active member and evaluator of the MTAC Certificate of Merit (CM) program. Her students consistently achieve the highest marks in both ABRSM and CM examinations, reflecting her commitment to technical precision, musical understanding, and thoughtful preparation.

Ms. Chen actively guides her students toward performance opportunities and competitive platforms throughout the Los Angeles area. She regularly prepares students for the American Protégé International Music Talent Competition. In both 2023 and 2025, her students were awarded Third Prize and invited to perform at Carnegie Hall. Her students have also earned distinguished placements including Second Prize at the Musical Arts Competition of Orange County and Third Prize at the 2022 Charleston International Music Competition.

In addition to fostering performance excellence, Ms. Chen provides comprehensive guidance for students pursuing music at the collegiate level — helping them develop the technical foundation, artistic voice, and portfolio required for successful admissions. One of her students was recently accepted into the University of California, Irvine, where they are currently pursuing a degree in music education.

How Eve Teaches

Teaching Philosophy

Rooted in Tradition

Eve began her studies at the Yamaha Music School in Taiwan at age five, building a foundation in classical technique and musicianship that informs everything she teaches today.

Performance-Driven Learning

Having competed and performed throughout her own education, Eve prepares students for recitals, ABRSM and CM examinations, and prestigious competitions — guiding students all the way to Carnegie Hall.

Community & Long-Term Growth

As an active MTAC member and evaluator, Eve connects students to a broader musical community and supports those with collegiate ambitions, helping them build the foundation for a life in music.

A Musical Life,
shared with students.

From her first lessons in Taiwan to master classes at CSUN and guiding students to Carnegie Hall, Eve's entire life has been shaped by music. She brings that lived experience — the joy of a first recital, the discipline of competition preparation, the pride of a student's acceptance into university — to every student she teaches.
